UPDATE: WORLDSTARHIPHOP.COM WAS NOT SHUT DOWN BY 50 CENT OR HOMELAND SECURITY ACCORDING TO Q THE CEO OF WORLDSTAR
It appears that one more hip-hop site has fallen victim to the hands of Department of Homeland Security. On Monday (January 24), many in hip-hop realized that the website WorldStarHipHop was no longer accessible in their Internet browser. Rumor quickly spread that the rap video site was seized by ICE (Immigration Customs Enforcement) and Homeland Security Investigations. But the World Star Hip-Hop camp says things aren't how they appear.
"WorldStar was not shut down due to Homeland Security or ICE, the site is just experiencing technical difficulties," Miatta David, representative for the site, told MTV News. "It's just an overload on the site due to traffic."
One of the few differences between today’s seizure of WSHH and those of the hip-hop sites from late November 2010 is the public’s reaction. While the consensus was shocked and heartbroken at the seizure of sites as Dajaz1, RapGodFathers, and OnSmash — who recently returned to the ‘net as FreeOnsmash.com — reactions of WSHH seizure vary from nonchalance to excitement.
50 Cent was one of the first to respond via Twitter, claiming he "shut down" World Star Hip-hop and more. The rapper's comments come after he reported file a lawsuit against the website for using his likeness in 2009.
"I don’t know why people underestimate me. I just shut down WorldStar. For future advertising contact thisis50.com suckers," he tweeted. "I put WorldStar to bed, you don’t believe try me and I will shut your sh-- down. Lol. I predict two more web sites will shut down this week. Take a guess who they are. I’m sick of the hate. I’m too strong."
WorldStar's founder Lee "Q" O'Denat, who's offices are based in New York and Los Angeles, told MTV News in response to Fif's taunts that "We didn't get the memo that 50 shut us down ... "
50 Cent continued, "Me and @FloydMayweather don’t’ think WorldStar was [a] good representation of black people as a whole. We will present better. I want to thank Howard Gordon and the good folks over at homeland. hahaha suckers your move."
RapFix turned to the hard streets of Twitter for reactions, lightly edited for grammar and content as with 50’s, on the seizure of WorldStarHipHop.
"WorldStar will be back once their GODaddy payment clears," @InfNYC joked.
"With WorldStarHipHop shut down, what platform will fledgling overweight bedroom strippers use to gain their much deserved fame?” Damien Lemon tweeted.
"WorldStarHipHop got shut down… where am I gonna watch people get beat up at IHOP now?” @Skighwalker tweeted.
"Ain’t going to lie #WorldStarHipHop had some crazy videos. I saw a murder take place on one!" Dorian Coney said.
However, Jasmine (@JasFly) tweeted on the bigger issue, saying "While I do take issue with WSHH and it’s content, I take a bigger issue with these government seizures of public domains."

In November of 2009, 50 Cent filed a lawsuit against the website, claiming his image and content was used on the website without permission.
“I have lawyers on retainers and I have to pay them so much money anyway, so we’ll go back and forth to court until they can’t afford a Subway sandwich,” 50 Cent said in 2009. “It’s already too late”

THE THREE TEAM DEAL SENDING CARMELO ANTHONY TO THE NEW JERSEY NETS COULD HAPPEN EARLY THIS WEEK
DENVER -- Two sources said Thursday evening that the long-anticipated trade of Carmelo Anthony, barring last-minute snags, was expected to be consummated next week.
The three-team deal between Denver, the Nets and Detroit would send Anthony and Chauncey Billups, along with other players, to New Jersey, with the Nets sending first-round pick Derrick Favors and two future firsts to Denver. Pistons guard Rip Hamilton would join Anthony and Billups in New Jersey, with forward Troy Murphy going to Detroit. Additional players from New Jersey would go to Detroit and Denver to make the deal work.
It remains unknown whether Anthony will commit to signing an extension with the Nets if he is traded there. New Jersey owner Mikhail Prokhorov is confident that if he can acquire Anthony -- which would allow him to finally speak directly with the three-time All-Star -- he can convince Anthony on the merits of playing with the Nets. The franchise is expected to move into its new arena in Brooklyn in two years, and Anthony, through intermediaries, has made his desire to play for the Knicks well known.
But the Nuggets are determined to exhaust every possibility before making the deal, which is why the trade could still fall through. They know that the trade talk has impacted their team -- "it's been draining the team," guard J.R. Smith said Thursday morning -- but they also know they are only going to trade their franchise player once, and they're determined to get it right.
Until the deal is official, though, the talk will continue, leaving players and coaches frustrated that a team less than two years removed from the Western Conference finals--and is finally getting healthy-won't be able to try and get back to that level.
"Last game [against Phoenix on Tuesday] was the first game we all played together," Billups said Thursday morning. "First game all year, you know what I'm saying? I do believe [Denver can make a run if kept intact]. I do believe that."

NEWS: KANYE WEST IN NEGOTIATIONS TO SIGN NAS TO GOOD MUSIC

I got a very nice tip from somebody inside the music game...a freakin' phone call! Who does that in 2011? Anyway, the word on the street is that Nas is going to head on over to G.O.O.D. Music, the home of Kanye West, Mos Def, Common, CyHi and a bunch of other talented mofos. Not sure where this started, but what do you think about it?
Also, on the flip side, I heard that Nas may not be releasing his next album on Def Jam. Not surprising. I also heard Lost Tapes may be included as a bonus CD if he does drop it.
